What’s the best thing about falling in love and settling down? You’ve got a whole new set of adventures to be planned, including a babymoon!

As much as I love traveling abroad, being pregnant made me want to stick a bit closer to home. Between the logistics of doctor’s appointments and concerns over the Zika virus (which, yeah, is still a very big deal for pregnant women), staying stateside just made sense.

From luxury babymoon destinations with all of the bells and whistles to chill weekend escapes, having a babymoon in the USA offers a world of options.

However, if you are looking to go internationally, check out my list of best babymoon destinations around the world!

Inspire your little one with a case of wanderlust from the very beginning with some of the best babymoon destinations in the USA.

Maui, Hawaii

Treat yourself, mama! With endless white-sand beaches, lush forests, and dramatic cliff sides, Maui will take your breath away at every turn. Go diving through the rainbow of coral and tropical fish or just put your feet up poolside.

If you’re looking for luxurious US babymoon destinations, the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea is a must. This effortlessly chic destination will make you feel like a pampered goddess.

Even if it’s just one night, treat yourself to at least one five-star experience in Maui.

And luxury escapes are just the beginning of the best things to do in Maui. From the magic of Lahaina to the many unique spots of Maui, this is a truly epic babymoon destination.

While Maui is my top pick, there are so many other places throughout Hawaii that would make an excellent spot for a babymoon.

Nantucket, Massachusetts

One of my top picks for honeymoon destinations in the United States, Nantucket is the perfect place to get away from it all.

This charming island off of Cape Cod is known for being a popular and posh summer destination.

With gorgeous dune-backed beaches, beautiful cedar-shingled buildings, and manicured privets, it’s no wonder why it’s so popular! And don’t even get me started on the cobblestone streets of Nantucket Town!

Lined with restaurants, high-end boutiques, and steepled churches, Nantucket is the one of the best US babymoon destinations for those who love the coast, history, and relaxation.

Take a stroll down the Sconset Bluff Walk (aka Cliff Walk) for some of the most beautiful views in New England.

Soak in the most stunning vistas on a sunset cruise through the harbor, and take a day trip over to Martha’s Vineyard.

Stowe, Vermont

Certainly a lesser-known destination in the United States, Stowe is famous as “Fall’s Color Capital.” Every year, the small town comes alive with the vibrant colors of autumn.

And it’s one of my fave babymoon locations in the USA at any time of the year. Explore the snowy slope of this winter wonderland or hike the sun-soaked hills during the summer. This place is gorgeous 365 days per year, and the cultural events calendar is non-stop.

As a plus, just outside the Green Mountain town of Stowe, this place is an ideal stop for serious cider fans. Foodies will also be delighted as there are many Vermont-made treats—like caramel sauces, jams, and maple candy available at Cold Hollow Cider Mill, too.

If it’s apple orchards you’re after, there are several historic ones scattered across the state.

Asheville, North Carolina

Another small city with major charm is Asheville, North Carolina.

Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville is popping with cool activities and its vibrant art scene. Fall in love with the historic architecture — like the Basilica of Saint Lawrence, or the iconic 19th-century Biltmore Estate.

The countless goodie hotspots, antique shops, cute coffeehouses, and chic galleries make this one of the best destinations for babymoons in the South.

If you want to extend your babymoon, take a day trip over to Charlotte.

Montage Palmetto Bluff

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

With 12 miles of flawless beaches, this place is a taste of heaven.

Soak in the sun then explore the Lowcountry culture. Hilton Head Island is home to some of the top museums, golf courses, art galleries, and theaters in the region.

Hilton Head packs a whole lot into one small island so it’s easy to plan a dream break here without a lot of travel (shoutout to my motion-sick moms!).

While I was road-tripping in the South, I found out first-hand just how delicious Southern cooking is…so if you’re keen on trying up some of the most delectable dishes in the country, this may be the place for you!

While it’s just outside of Hilton Head Island, I stayed at Montage Palmetto Bluff and had the most incredible and luxurious getaway. I’d highly recommend looking into it!

Plus, if you want to extend your babymoon, Charleston is about a 2 and a half-hour drive from Hilton Head, or the charming city of Savannah is about a 45-minute drive away.

Charleston, South Carolina

Take in the antebellum architecture as you explore the historic streets of South Carolina’s biggest city. Once you’ve explored the wonders of the city, then get pampered with Charleston’s famous babymoon packages.

At the Restoration Hotel, you can get a two-night babymoon package complete with in-room couples massages, chocolate truffles, and keepsakes for your future explorer.

Or indulge in luxury in the Jazz Age vibe of The Spectator, with a Baby on the Way package offering everything from cushy maternity pillows to rose petal turndown service. Keep pregnancy cravings well satisfied with chocolate-covered strawberries while you sip craft mocktails in a candle-lit lavender bath.

While I was in Charleston, I opted to stay at 86 Cannon and it was an absolute dream.

I actually found myself not wanting to leave in the morning! That is more than a little rare for me, but the welcoming inn was a key part of what made Charleston so charming.

On top of all of that, Charleston is such a foodie city and has some of the best restaurants in the country!

Definitely check out my Charleston foodie guide to start planning out your meals. You could easily spend three days in Charleston, and then if you wanted to extend your trip, you could pop on over to Savannah (it’s about two hours from Charleston).
